Brooks comes from a small town in Maryland. He always felt like he lived in his thespian sister’s shadow and was too afraid to pursue his dream of being an artist in his own right. He always felt like an outsider, within his own family and at school. After a back injury ended his soccer career, he found himself building his confidence through music. Brooks now works as a medication technician at a dementia care facility. He uses music to connect with his residents with dementia.
